SEWAGE SYSTEM DESIGN FOR WENCHON.(The Sanatorium)

1. Introduction.

On 30th September 1998, The Kingfisher Trust contracted the Survey, Study and Design of the Wastewater and Sewage System at the Wenchon Sanatorium on St. Mary's Island (Banjul).

Works included Surveying, Design / Drawing of a Site Plan showing the Existing Facilities, as relating to Wastewater and Sewage, Designing of a better system to alleviate existing difficulties and preparation of four blueprints of the proposed design and also a cost estimate and design specifications for the new system.

2. Existing Facilities Review (Survey Report).

The sewage and wastewater facilities at the Sanatorium were surveyed several times to derive an accurate reeding of the situation and thereby design a more proper and functioning system.

Survey Report.

The Sanatorium consists of several buildings or sections described below:i. The Main Ward (Male).

ii. The Female Ward iii. The Kitchen.

iv. The Laundry.

v. The Dining facility (incomplete)
