Department of Social Welfare receives 50 wheelchairs

When Gambia commemorated World Disability Day.Kingfisher Trust donated over 50 wheelchairs to the Department of Social Welfare.

In handing over the donations to the beneficiaries, Mr Simon B Wezel founder and coordinator of the support unit at Kingfisher said

the donation was made in order to assist the disabled in the country. Kingfisher will continue to assist the physically challenged at all times.

In receiving the gifts, the secretary general of the association of the physically disabled Mr Bai Cham said the gifts will he put into good use and he thanked the donors for their timely gesture.

The beneficiaries are the Red Cross, Ahmadiyya Hospital Manduar village clinic and Latrikunda Yiringanya health centre

The presentation ceremony was attended members of disabilty Groups and officials for the Department of Social Welfare and representa1 tive from Unicef;

The vote of thanks was delivered by Karamo Kinteh of the Social Welfare Department.
